PRIMA – Committed to Global Recycling Day. Everyday.

Friday 18th March is Global Recycling Day, a day to make positive changes in our daily lives and decide to put the planet first.

At PRIMA Leisure, our commitment to protecting the planet for future generations is key to how we operate.

Global Recycling Day 2022

Friday 18th March is Global Recycling Day. Now in its fifth year, the campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of education about waste reduction, recycling and CO2 emissions around the globe.

As part of Bailey of Bristol, our commitment to sustainable manufacturing and a kinder supply chain is fundamental to how we do business, every day of the year. From using renewable material and switching to 100% renewable energy tariffs to segregating waste and working closely with our suppliers to reduce packaging, helping to protect the planet is a key priority for us.

In order to sustain our industry going forward therefore, it is important that we work in harmony with nature to ensure that it can continue to be enjoyed by future generations At Bailey, we remain committed to playing our part in this process by reducing the environmental footprint of our operations and striving to make our leisure vehicle products as sustainable as possible. Over recent years we have undertaken a range of initiatives designed to reduce our impact on the environment, covering our products, our sites and our culture.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

As a group of outdoor enthusiasts, at PRIMA our dedication to helping everybody enjoy a beautiful environment is non-negotiable. Yet every year, over two billion tons of waste is dumped into landfill sites and, of course, our industry is not an innocent bystander.

This painful fact made confronting the vast amount of waste generated through packaging an absolute priority for PRIMA. We tackled this by changing our thinking – at Prima, we see waste packaging as a valuable untapped resource.

The equation was simple; the more packaging we reuse, the less waste we make.

That is why when you receive your order, you’ll find it firmly packaged and padded with shredded, crimped, or perforated cardboard from pre-used packaging!

The Global Recycling Foundation supports the promotion of recycling, and the recycling industry, across the world to showcase its vital role in preserving the future of the planet. Our mission is to fund educational and awareness programmes, which focus on the sustainable and inclusive development of recycling, across the world. To ensure recycling remains at the heart of the environmental wellbeing of our planet, the Global Recycling Foundation has nine primary goals:

  • To support and celebrate Global Recycling Day each year on March 18th
  • Promote the importance of prioritising the Seventh Resource.
  • Foster the promotion of recycling across the world, support and share best practices and innovation.
  • Protect biodiversity.
  • Commit to and promote eco-responsibility and the circular economy.
  • Encourage responsible, sustainable and inclusive environment actions to benefit ecological developments.
  • Support statistical, economic, and social studies in the field of recycling.
  • Support research and innovation in the field of recycling.
  • Support educational programmes, university and scientific research in the field of recycling.

PRIMA Leisure is proud to support the goals of the Global Recycling Foundation. Help us safeguard our planet by reusing, reducing and recycling as much packaging from PRIMA as possible, so we can all look forward to more glorious caravanning to seasons to come.

Even the Bailey Bear gets a nice comfortable ride to you on a bed of repurposed packaging!
