Four Fun Ideas for the Ultimate Easter Caravan Getaway

With Easter fast approaching, it is time to start thinking about having that much-needed time away. Here we bring you some of the top ways to spend the Easter weekend away, whatever you enjoy doing!

Whether you want something for the kids, a nice city break, an action packed weekend or just some time to unwind and clear your mind, the UK has many beautiful locations for you to enjoy and many idyllic sites to settle into.

1. Fancy A Quiet Weekend Away?

With all the hustle and bustle of life, it is nice to have a nice quiet getaway to look forward too.  Why not take a trip up to the north of Wales for a lovely stay in Bodnant Caravan Park. With beautiful scenic views all round, this campsite is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing break. The Bodnant Caravan Park is a central location for all things in North Wales with local amenities only a short walk away.

Relax and unwind while taking walk through the Bodnant Garden just 15 minutes away from the site. Bursting with terrific colour throughout the year, you can enjoy a beautiful plant collection built up over 150 years. The Bodnant Garden is great for any gardening enthusiasts and anyone looking to unwind in a special place.

2. Fun Packed Adventure With The Kids

With the half term break, it is time to keep the kids and the grandkids entertained for the week. This is the perfect time to get out and enjoy a fun adventure packed week away. How about going down towards Windsor?

The Hurley Riverside Park is a great option. It is a family run and pet friendly park sitting alongside the River Thames. It offers a family friendly atmosphere and is located only 10 mins from Windsor, which has a big list of places to visit and things to do including the kids favourite, Legoland. The benefit of staying in Hurley Riverside is that they offer discount vouchers for many local attractions & events including Legoland tickets. Better yet, you have easy access to Windsor, Oxford, Henley, Marlow and even London if you fancy venturing out a bit further.

Chertsey Camping and Caravanning Club site is another good site to check out. This beautiful site is just a 30-minute train journey from London and has easy access to a wide range of activities including Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures. The kids will have plenty to do which will help bedtime run a lot smoother! It also has a very rural and calm feel, allowing you to relax on those rest days.

3. Explore the Great Outdoors

There is nothing better than being outside in the fresh air going on a bike ride, going for a hike or just enjoying a leisurely evening stroll.  North Wales has some great locations for exploring including Snowdonia National Park.  With that comes a few caravan and camping sites such as Cae Du and Aberafon with stunning panoramic views and fun activities like rowing and surfing right around the corner.

Snowdonia National Park is nearby these two sites and is a popular destination for outdoor activities. This beautiful area is known for its walking and climbing but it also has some of the best mountain biking facilities. As there are plenty of lakes, rivers and the coastline, water sports and fishing have become very popular with visitors. BUT, that is not all. If you are not feeling like being too active, you can simply explore the park on horseback or just enjoy relaxing afternoon of golf.

Snowdonia National Park gives everyone the opportunity to simply enjoy themselves in the great outdoors! You will feel completely relaxed and at peace just by taking in the beautiful panoramic views.

4. How About A City Break?

The UK has some fantastic locations for city breaks full of things to do to for everyone! Whether you are going for a fun fuelled family break, a romantic break or a trip with some friends you can always find exactly what you are looking for in a city break.

London is always a great idea for a city break. Between all the historical features, attractions and the range of restaurants, bars, theatres, pop ups, performing arts events and galleries, you are guaranteed to have a good time.  You can also find some great caravan sites for your visit such as Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site. This site has easy access to London, making it easy for you to make daily trips and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city but get back to a calmer environment at the end of the day. Despite having easy access to London, this site offers spacious grounds with a relaxing and peaceful feel all year round.

If London sounds a bit too much for you, why not try places like Bath. Down in the southwest, Bath is overflowing with places to eat and drink with a remarkable collection of museums and galleries. You can also enjoy year round festivals, theatre and music. What’s more, Bath has been a beautiful well being destination since the roman times; built for pleasure and relaxation with many spas including the well-known Thermae spar where you can enjoy Britain’s only natural thermal waters. This contemporary city brings exciting new ventures from a day of pampering at your choice of spa to a hot air balloon ride across the city.

Just two miles away from Bath City Centre, you can find the Bath Marina & Caravan Park just beside the River Avon.  With grassy banks and shady trees, this site is a great place to unwind; perfect for a relaxing and romantic city getaway. You can take a nice stroll along the riverside, and also catch a quick park and ride bus into the centre of Bath for some fun day trips.
